One Practice. Not a Referral List.
You don't need a trauma specialist, a queer-affirming therapist, or someone who won't blink at your kink disclosures. You need one person who's all three. Here's what working with me actually looks like—and what it costs, up front, because guessing games aren't therapeutic for anyone.
Trauma Therapy, Built Around You Instead Of A Diagnosis
I work in two lanes, not one blended thing. EMDR-trained reprocessing work happens in its own dedicated session, it doesn't share a session well with talk therapy, so I don't make it try to. Alongside that, I draw on CBT, narrative therapy, and interpersonal therapy, narrative work especially, since rewriting the story you've been handed about yourself is most of the job. Which combination you get depends on what's actually happening for you, not a fixed protocol everyone gets run through.
The Practical Stuff
Sessions are telehealth only, 50+ minutes. If you're not doing EMDR, that's typically one session a week. If you are, it's two: one session is EMDR reprocessing only, the other is talk therapy, CBT, narrative, interpersonal, whatever the week calls for. They stay separate on purpose, not because I'm padding the schedule.
Who I Work With
People carrying long-term trauma, the kind that shows up as anxiety, depression, an inability to say no, or staying somewhere that hurts because it's familiar. Predominantly, not exclusively, queer clients. Kink-friendly, always. You don't owe me an explanation for any of it before we start.
Just Need An ESA Letter? That's Its Own Thing.
This one's standalone, you don't need to be an ongoing therapy client to book it. It's a one-time, 45-minute clinical evaluation: we talk through your relationship with the animal, what they actually provide for you, how long you've had them, and what your life looks like with them versus without. It's a real evaluation, not a rubber stamp, we get further into the details than that list makes it sound. If it's clinically appropriate, you get an individualized letter delivered electronically, signed, and carrying my license number for whichever state you live in, plus my contact information. It's valid for the life of the animal, one evaluation, not an annual renewal fee.
What It Costs
$200 per session, trauma therapy and ESA evaluations both, one flat rate. I don't bill insurance directly, but I will provide a superbill you can submit to your own insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. No sliding-scale spots right now.
Q: I've done therapy before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
A: Because most therapy is built around a client who isn't you. This isn't that.
What People Usually Ask Before Starting
Q: Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail in the first session?
A: No. We go at the pace that's actually safe for you, not the pace a treatment plan says you should be at.
Q: What if I only want the ESA letter, not ongoing therapy?
A: Then book the ESA evaluation. It's standalone, no ongoing commitment required.
